"I'm Alive!" That is the first thing a Houseplant wants you to
know. Next would be the fact that they need a relationship with you to keep them alive.
"Acclimation" is the secret to success. In their
native home, the tropics, they received all the light, water and food they
needed, but they now depend on you to acclimate them to your home. Take a few moments and learn how easy and
simple it can be to take care of your Houseplants.

PLANT PROBLEMS
NOTE! Temperature - Most plants prefer temperatures
between 65 degrees and 75 degrees with night temperatures 5 to 10 degrees lower.
Avoid extremes.
NOTE! Quality - When shopping, pick healthy plants.
They should have the right color, shape and size, and not have blemishes
or brown edges. Look at the pot and soil. If roots are growing
through the drainage holes or are at the top of the soil, the plant may need to
be repotted.
NOTE! Houseplant System - Houseplants
absorb air ( carbon dioxides and other air pollutants) and water through their
root system and then filter up into the stem and out into the leaves, producing fresh
oxygen. The lack of or the surplus of too much water will stop the flow.
NOTE! Losing
a Houseplant can be upsetting and some blame themselves. It is important
to remember that Houseplants should be enjoyed as temporary decorations, like
flowering plants such as roses or gladiolus. But not thought of as pets to be
mourned when they become ill or possibly die.
